ADDICTION INTERVENTION RESOURCES ANNOUNCES
LAUNCH OF NEW NATIONWIDE NETWORK OF
ADDICTION CONSULTING SPECIALISTS

ST. PAUL, Minn., (October 31, 2003)—Addiction Intervention Resources (AIR), a national drug addiction and consulting company, has launched a new national network of trained intervention specialists, counselors and consultants to help families and businesses handle addiction-related crisis.

Headquartered in Saint Paul, Minnesota, AIR has now opened offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Chicago, Charlotte and Las Cruces, New Mexico. Each AIR office provides non-confrontational help for individuals, families and organizations in crisis from alcohol, drug, gambling, sexual addictions and eating disorders. AIR’s methods are solution-focused, helping the family move out of crisis when a loved one is addicted.

“People believe they have to wait until an addicted friend, family member or co-worker hits bottom before they are ready to accept help,” says AIR President and CEO, Robert Poznanovich. “Nobody has to hit their absolute bottom before getting treatment. The earlier a family member, friend or company steps in to help the addicted individual, the sooner they get the services needed to begin treating the disease, and the better the chance for the addicted individual to get their life back.”

Poznanovich, a recovering cocaine addict and former corporate executive, founded AIR when he realized that he could put his life experiences with addiction and recovery to use in helping others.

“You can’t doctor yourself. If there is an addict in the family, the entire family is in crisis and one-on-one, any addict can outwit their family members,” says Poznanovich. “No one else is doing what AIR is doing. We treat this as a ‘family disease’ and work with the entire family to put the addicted individual on the path to recovery.”

AIR’s trained professionals:

• Implement a proven protocol to address the crisis at hand and quickly establish a solution based plan of action.

• Outline and execute a plan of treatment for the addicted individual.

• Work with families and businesses to determine reasonable changes in behavior, lifestyle and employment for all members of the team, independent of the addicted individual’s decision to accept help.

• Provide optional post-intervention resources and continuing care to the addicted individual and his or her family through resources such as the “Not Home Alone” re-entry service that supports the addicted individual as they adjust to their work and personal lives after leaving treatment.
